About Us

“I don’t sing because I’m happy;

I’m happy because I sing.”

Lost in Song is directed by Emma Mansfield.

Emma is a  music professional and performer who arranges all of the pieces for Lost in Song. As a former member of the Eden choir and KV2, she has a love of creating wonderful harmonies and has developed an extensive acappella repertoire.

Lost in Song are sometimes accompanied by other musicians, including Martha on guitar and Steve on tambourine.  Tony Taylor has joined us on banjo and we are also working on collaborations with Lostwithiel Town Band.

Emma Mansfield, author of the best-selling Little Book of Cornwall, founded Lost In Song in February 2006. Inspired by the work of Vicky Abbot and her Acorn Choir (now Fifty Degrees) based in Penzance, Emma wanted to set up a similar group in Lostwithiel. The choir began with just 20 members and is now a 50-strong group of singers.  As well a writer, producer and singer, Emma has her own yoga school and works as a young people’s vocal coach for CYMAZ Music and local schools.

Anyone is welcome to join Lost in Song, all we ask is that you’re open to learning new things and being part of a lovely team.  Contact Emma or check out our Facebook page.
